Beautiful image. I did wonder if you could drop the word 'like' and have:
a flotilla of gulls white boats on a blue sea rising and falling with the tide
I feel pulled into it more...as if I have to discover the images for myself... apologies for being interfering... occupational hazard : ) And it is lovely as it is, as I said.
