After storm

the last breath
of the turning tide
leaves
scraps of fractured fronds
along the sand

  1. This is gorgeous and I love your poetry!
I see you're on Islay - a magnificent spot, indeed and let me thank you for your malt whiskies!

  2. Yes, you've made me want to move to Islay, Mavis, and I have to confess a soft spot for the malts too! I've really enjoyed your poetry, hope you're going to carry on with the blog xxx

  3. Thanks Kat and Sam - yes I plan to continue and to post photos of the things that inspire the words; but I will be in London and Birmingham for about 3 weeks so will have to seek inspiration in an urban setting. As to Islay malts - I'm almost afraid to say I'm not keen on whisky at all. But have you tried Islay Bruichaddich gin? The Botanist. It contains plants gathered on Islay by myself and my husband! Cheers.

  4. I've really enjoyed your posts Mavis. When our granddaughter was born we bought her parents a bottle of Islay malt as her name is Isla! Keep blogging! xxx

  6. Will look for the gin, but I'm not sure if we can get it here, Mavis.
